A BICYCLE STORY....

It started with Ayie. He wanted a bigger bike for his 8th birthday present - 22 Feb 2007. Dah besar anak mama, 8 tahun, tak main lah basikal kecik. Well, at that time we only had 2 kindergarten bikes (bought them for Abang and Ngah some 10 years ago), 1 toddler bike and a bigger one for Abang (too big for Ayie)

When Ayie visited Mommy's house, he would try to ride on K. Lia's bike...he can actually ride tho his feet was not even touching the ground. From there on, he kept nagging Abah to buy a new bike for his birthday. He could't settle for just one shop, Abah had to take him to several shops including Jusco,Tesco....susah jugak nak pilih......so finally Abah found a small bicycle shop at downtown Melaka...Abah and Mama approved of buying Ayie a brand new BMX at RM 250.

Out of envy and merit, Ngah pulak mintak basikal..granted coz she is almost 11 years old but still using a kindergarten bike!!! OK lah..so the next day Abah spent another RM260 for a girlish red bike, with carrier basket. Just like Nina's. Mama tried a few times, wow it's "heavy" - hers is without gear.

Then Abang pulak mintak upgrade his bike from a normal bike to a geared one - his bike is still considered "new". Once again Abah went to that shop. Small shop but full of all sorts of bike's accessories. Abang looked happy and contented...tak dapat yang baru, dapat gear baru jadilah kan ...

Then Abah pulak seronok naik bike. Quietly Abah went to buy a mountain bike worth RM 300++ for himself. Habis lah semua anak beranak into biking pulak. Every morning after subuh, Abah would try to find time to bike around our taman. A good exercise...

Aliff and mama je tak de basikal. Alif kecik lagi - by the way Alif is using Abang's 1st toddler bike with small train wheels. OK lah tu kaki Aliff pendek lagi...
And today, for the first time in so many years mama got the chance to ride a bicycle....dah lama mama teringin nak naik tapi malu lah...segan orang kat taman tengok. So today, gelap-gelap lagi lepas subuh, mama asked Abah's permission to go for a morning ride. Abah was getting ready to go to KL, siap tukar baju sports.."tak pe lah biar Abah teman mama"....Abah takut mama kena culik agak nya pagi-pagi buta...

It was fun...habis lah basikal abang jadi mangsa. Ayie pun join. Fuhhh..the uphill ride was really challenging. Mama thot of taking an initial ride on a flat ground , maklumlah first time. Abah took me to his regular path..adoiiii torture mama nak complete one round and thank God, the downhill was a bit relaxed. Abah used to go a few lapse but mama was already panting for air so one round cukup lah...save some energy for tomorrow..heheheh

Aliff was still sleeping at that time, I am sure he would want to join if he knew about this morning ride. When mama came back, Abang was waiting at the door, probably worried like mad if I damaged his bike....relax lah bang.... Thot of doing this on a regular basis...who knows I can shed some kilo off...hehehe wishfull thinking...

p/s Kat depan rumah penuh dgn 7 basikal, from toddler to adult bikes. Nak pegi KL tinggal bike kat luar rumah pun susah. Abah, being him, siap bawak masuk the 3 new bikes dalam rumah before leaving the house. Mana tak nya total cost for all would be almost RM1000
